0. I just bought my X302LA earlier this month, so I did not test it with
kernels older than 4.2.0-19. I just moved my older system to its HDD and
continued testing Xenial.
1. I updated its BIOS to v.204, so 'bios-outdated-204' tag may be removed now:

the touchpad dies off as well (working before pm-suspend and dead after waking
up). So probably we could not find a 'good' kernel to start bisection, as this
hardware is very new a

worked for me amazingly and allowed me to start my viber 21.0.0.1 again!

My laptop is Asus X302LA. I removed its HDD and plugged it externally via
USB-SATA convertor.
To restore the system's bootability, I had to switch from MODULES=dep to
MODULES=most in /etc/initramfs-tools/initramfs.conf and regenerate initramfs
images by command
update-ini
