As for me, the bug is still present in 14.04., after BIOS upgrade to the
latest (2009) version 1.80-WIN for my model (Satellite L300D PSLC8E,
apparently a EU-only model).
It is not only the lid close, but also FN keys which magically start
working after the first suspend.
