For me everything's fine after yesterday's kernel update. Shutdown and suspend work as expected. So this bug seems to have been fixed indeed, for the Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 chip at least. The current kernel (4.13.0-17-generic #20-Ubuntu SMP Mon Nov 6 10:04:08) appears to be unchanged from the on
