After automatic update Sept 22, my ubuntu will not go past password-
entry screen. After I enter password it goes back to login-screen.
Tried the former kernel also: 3.13.0-35, but same problem. Recovery mode
through GRUB also does not work (all kernels, two)
apt-get update
Posting this bug on different computer (windows). Laptop with Ubuntu
cannot run browser. Not able to login

Desktop not loadi
Hi Brad,
Posted this bug on other computer (Windows). Cannot login with Ubuntu
laptop and run Terminal and run apport-collect 1373336.
Ran it thru tty1, but that does not work.

I can only test them by booting my laptop with my old 12.04 LTS -Disc,
which runs ok.
By now I have downloaded the 14.04 LTS from another sytem and burned it
to a new CD and did a total fresh install after saving all my documents
to a flash-drive.
It runs perfectly now and of course will make a n
Also: After installing I ran UpdateManager. It downloaded and installed
3.13.0.36-generic Kernel. Did a reboot afterwards and no problems this
time.
I guess we'll never find out what the problem was. Maybe a faulty update
or hardware problem which caused the bug.
