This is an 14.04 installation packaging issue because I'm running 14.04
now on this lapto

My Dell XPS L502X (RealTek gigabit eth0) is also affected by this bug.
After suspend/resume, even
sudo service network-manager restart
can not bring back the LAN connectivity

I confirm that this bug is absent from yesterday's (May 28th) image (
utopic-desktop-amd64.iso ).
So the fix will be back-ported and a new 14.04 (desktop) image will be
released soon, right?

The i8k kernel module (Dell fan control) fails to load in 14.04 (on Dell
XPS L502X laptop) --

This bug is fixed in Utopic Unicorn, but how about Trusty Tahr? I
disagree with closing this critical bug because:
1. So many Dell XPS L502X owners out there are not able to install 14.04
(directly) due to this bug
2. It may also affect other similar models
3. If I mess up with my system in the
