I've tried an earlier version of 4.9 kernel and met:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1642192 due to Linus
turned CONFIG_MODVERSIONS back on in the mainline kernel.
So I try to install the latest one, and get this bug.
Prior 4.9 kernels I tried are 4.4.x, worked fine.
I
The latest 4.10.0-7 kernel works.

I'm still getting this on 4.2.0-17-generic with a Lenovo W550s.
Moreover, [if you read the patch](http://www.spinics.net/lists/intel-
gfx/msg78796.html) you'll see it just affects whether it prints the
warning, and doesn't correct the underlying problem. Related or not, I'm
also seeing the blank-sc
