I checked another machine (same model and maker). There I had the exact
same problem. I finally returned the laptops, as I could not use them.

In conversation with Timo we've verified that the relevant firmware
files modified here are currently unused in hirsute - there are no hits
for them in the existing mt79 driver.
Accordingly, this is not expected to affect any existing hirsute
systems.
