When I start my laptop with AC plugged in, the CPU frequency oscillates around
1.5Ghz, but as soon as I plug some USB device, like an external mouse, the
frequency goes up to the max (3.2Ghz) and stays there, even though the system
monitor tells me that no app is eating CPU

I can confirm that the AX200 works OK when plugged in a x1 PCIe slot, and does
NOT work in a x16 slot. In the later case it generates the before-mentioned
"NMI_INTERRUPT_UMAC_FATAL"

No idea. I didn't march forward on the commits until it breaks, and I
don't know when the bug occurs or I'd scream about it.
What I do know is this old version is stable and I've had demonstrably
no problems with it.

The only tip I can give, is that I tried @ferenc's fix while I was running
5.8.0 kernel.
It was working as expected with the regular problems.
Then I've had some issues with Virtualbox-dkms and needed to go back to
5.4.0-47 kernel version.
Suddenly Ubuntu detects the trackpad flawlessly.
