On the latest series of updates I've noticed kernel update to
4.18.0.9.10 and gave it a try. I still observe in dmesg diagnostics dump
about "Bad or missing usercopy whitelist? Kernel memory exposure
attempt..." but I am able to start session with nvid
I have the same error after a ubuntu upgrade from 16 LTS to 18 LTS.
However only the upgraded partition has the problema, booting from a pen
drive with 18 LTS everything works fine, checking a hipotiposes of home
/ etc dirty.

Title:
Acer Aspire A315 IOAPIC failure on Ubuntu 18.04, kernel hangs, can't
load
Workaround:
Use VirtualBox with Lubuntu 18.04.
USB mode V 1.1 has no 64 max packet size error.
Some changes in podhd.c makes altsetting error go away. (attached).
Result: Two workable PODHD500 audio interfaces. :) I dont no why it duplicates
in podhd.c.
How I can apply it to my current system?

I have a MacBook Air laptop which is running Linux (Kubuntu 16.04.5 LTS)
with NVidia Graphics Card, KDE, Xorg, SDDM, and so on... Clean and
natural install, no funky custom kernel or drivers or anything...
Everything worked fine (with the 4.13.* kernel) until I've upgraded al

It started happening after upgrading from 18.04 to 18.10.

Update: I got the "package temperature above threshold" again (still
using 4.18.0-10 kernel), but it did not cause visible performance loss
and i7z still shows the CPU freq can go up to ~3.8 GHz easily. So maybe
these messages are not related.
