Ever since the 4.4.0-53 kernel update the touchpad and trackpoint have behaved
erratically on my Dell Precision 7510:
* The trackpoint moves WAY too fast and there don't seem to be any parameters I
can change in xinput to fix this. It is essentially unusable.

That is good news. The Xenial kernel does not yet have the 4.4.42
updates, but it now has up to the 4.4.40 updates.

the OOB write fix was submitted in march 2016, so I doubt that has
anything to do with it.
I tried debugging the module i2c_hid (which I'm not accustomed to) and
dug op the following while loading the module and reading /proc/kmsg
simultaneously (on kernel 4.10-rc1):

Tried the 14.04.2 which works correctly. The 14.04.5 does the same bug.
So I guess the Kernel 4.x is broke for Lenovo. And Canonical does not
care at all.
What does Priority "high" even mean? No progress since October 2016 and
all Lenovo Yoga 3 Notebooks keep Linux free...

And more, I just found out the latest v4.8.0-34 already can boot up
successfully without acpi=off while previous v4.8.0-30 does not.
So looks like that my issue has been fixed in 4.8.0-34.
