I just checked the maas daily images, and both the 4.4.0-45 xenial and
4.8.0-27 yakkety initrd contain the cdc_ether kernel drivers. I also
checked the 20160310 maas image that contains the 4.4.0-11-generic
kernel, and it contains the drivers as well.

I think I see what's going on. Ecryptfs copies up attributes from the
lower filesystem's inode directly. However the practice of overlayfs is
to only copy up i_uid, i_gid, and i_mode from the lower inode into the
overlayfs inode, and to fetch other attributes from the lower inode on
getattr.

My biggest fear is that during one of these 'freezing' episodes my
Samsung 850 SSD will remount the root partition as read-only. I've had
several HDDs go read-only, over the years, and it's a PITA to recover
from it, especially in RAID configs.

I am also having the exact same laptop model.
with the latest available kernel 4.8.7 i don't see the gpio interrupt errors,
but also i don't see anything touchscreen added to xinput as well.
Since I didnt find any resolution in your ups
I never did get that working, even building direct from upstream. I
ended up putting Windows 10 back onto the computer just to make sure it
wasn’t a hardware error (and also because the BIOS can only be flashed
from within Windows. Thanks, HP.) Touchscreen works in Win10, so it’s
definitely softwar

something different with their network stack, so I switched (Ubuntu Mate
16.10). I had this same wifi drop with both Unity and Gnome 3, but have
had pretty much no issues on Ubuntu Mate -- one crash in a week, and I'm

Yes, that result is unexpected. So it sounds like v4.9-rc5 without the
patches is still bad, but adding the two patches fixes the bug.

I have now tested both v4.9-rc5 and the bisect kernel (lp1642739) and
both triggered the panic on shutdown.

Dell Poweredge C6320p machine with Intel Xeon Phi processor, running
certification tests.
I see 2 segfaults in the logs, there are more errors in the cert tests which I

I do not find mention of this bug in the changelog for 4.8.0-28-generic (I
searched for IO_WATCHDOG_DELAY, and USB and ohci - nothing for the latest
version)
and an attempted print failed exactly the same way, with a dead-in

I have a dual system of Ubuntu and Windows 7 and encountered the same
problem after in place upgrade from 16.04 to 16.10. I tried boot-repair
before but it didn't work. Just a moment ago I tried this command and it
worked:
sudo grub-install /dev/sda

The Yoga Pro 2 touch pad was very sketchy (nearly useless) on the old
xorg driver.
With the exception of 2 issues, the touch pad works perfectly with libinput as
long I install xserver-xorg-input-libinput driver. Last remaining issues:
- Middle mouse click lost after resume
- Touchpad always dete

Yes, it still occurs with 4.9-rc5
I have made a discovery however that will help:
The problem only occurs if the nvidia GPU is disabled in the BIOS and only the
intel one is active.
If the nvidia adapter is enabled in BIOS, then restoring from hibernate works.
