The #17 kernel has no oops. Network and bridge are brought up after
boot, however there is no network connectivity on the bridge. "sudo
service networking restart" fixes that and after that everything works.

Just for my clarification before updating anything. The BIOS is the
same/shared in Linux and W10? If so, then I cannot see why this will help
as there is no difference between the cards
when running under W10.

I installed, from pendrive, Ubuntu 16.04 LTS in dell inspiron 1501
(with windows XP), the windows poweroff normally, but ubuntu do not: it
goes shutdown apparently normally but finally do not power off the
labtop.

As originally reported, one some workloads, it seems setting to
powersave/ondemand causes high load with CPUs checking to see if they
need to enter powersave state.
While the original report included perf report for the acpi-cpufreq
We may need to rebuild perf after libunwind is rebuilt.

- I have Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (and 16.04 LTS) 64 bit version set up as a router
with DHCPv6 support.
- Client is vanilla Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit desktop.
The problems I described above apply to the server VM, where the solicit
packet appears to be eaten by the kernel.

Any platform that gets usb support from the xhci-platform driver does not have
usb enabled in d-i.
[Test Case]
Boot into d-i and attempt to use a usb device, i.e. keyboard.
[Regression Risk]
Extremely low as this is a driver that is already present in the kernel.
