Affects my system too, a HP Pavilion laptop, model dv6-6174la (AMD APU +
dedicated GPU), running linux-lts-xenial on Kubuntu 14.04. I can suspend just
fine with Linux 4.6.0-040600-generic from the mainline repo.
There are LOTS of reports of problems with suspend/resume related to kernel
4.4...
I can also confirm that Linux 4.4.9-040409-generic does suspend just
fine.

This was previously marked as a duplicate of Bug #1415880: 14e4:4365
bcmwl-kernel source: fix for null pointer crash.
Since this bug is specifically mentioned in the changelog for the Trusty
package, I unduped it.
** This bug is no longer a duplicate of bug 1415880

There is still a package in precise-proposed that needs verification.
I am sure about the Trusty task. It may have been fixed with Bug

improvement.
I now get single 5's rather than repeated string
