With a normal boot, I get the splash screen and a prompt to enter my
encrypted disk password. Input is not accepted apart from ctrl-alt-

I will give it a try. Why not.?
I did read the etiquette, but ignored the bios thing because I thought it
was too dangerous.
I recommend linking to updating bios if you want someone to do this.
If one has windows, it is really easy (on paper).
I researched how to do this and it seems easy enough
Is this going to be fixed in 16.04?

Also, just to confirm and clarify the bug report. It looks like the only
package that would need to be fixed in the end is os-prober. Neither
initramfs-tools nor the kernel need changes, right?
