This happens to me running 64-bit Xubuntu 15.10 on a Dell Latitude
E7440, when unlocking the screen after it's been sent to sleep. Light
Locker Settings claims "Your screensaver settings are managed by Xfce
Power Manager [Open]"; opening that utility, it's not clear what I need

Fresh install of ubuntu 15.04 with 3.19.0-15-generic on a new laptop,
updated to 3.19.0-39-generic. I've been avoiding using the 4.x kernals
since it requires adding acpi=off to the boot instructions, but when
loaded there is still no touchpad.

c0ff971) requested in this bug is applicable to Vivid and Trusty.
