unfortunatly the issue has not been fixed in the latest upstream kernel.
The kernel version I used to test was:
$ uname -r
3.15.0-031500rc8-generic
For the test I ran acpi_listen and toggled the switch numerous times.
Out of curiosity I also checked some older kernel images:
3.11.10-031110
I've just tried defragging a file again with the official trusty kernel
and it soon hanged as before. Rebooting into your kernel fixed it, so
looks like you've done a good job!
