We recently also experiencing this issue on Ubuntu 12.04. I've tried the
suggestions stated in comment:1. This didn't gave any relief. To get back to
the "console speed" I was used to in Lucid, I did the following:

Looks like we get the error on restart of the bluetooth service because
the dbus service reload failed beforehand. Unfortunately the reload
error of the dbus service is ignored which makes troubleshooting harder
than it would need to be. IMHO this is an error in the bluez.postinst
script.

Okay, I wasn't able to test the nvidia driver with the upstream kernel,
but I tested with another version of the nvidia driver with the stock
kernel. Backlight control works with nvidia 304 driver.

Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit daily build, fully updated to today (April 4, 2014).
I noticed on my Lenovo E430 when I try to enable bluetooth, it
continuously disables itself. I installed "Bluetooth Manager" from the
Software Center and it activated and stayed lit like it should have.
Also happens on version 22:

Mute/unmute of microphone works with kernel 3.14.0-031400-generic (64bit
amd).
I have a Thinkpad T410 with devel. branch of 14.04
But there is something a bit strange: If I mute unmute the mic. I get
the same symbols in the upper right corner as if I mute/unmute the
speakers. Is it supposed to be
