Also, if I add i8042.nopnp as a kernel parameter (as suggested in dmesg)

I have the same problem using Arch Linux (Model Fujitsu U9310X). I have
tried installing Ubuntu (and many other distributions) and experienced
the same problem.
I have tried running 'sudo modproble i2c_hid' and it didn't help. Let me
know if you want to me to upload all my logfiles too.
