I own an Dell Latitude e4310 also containing an Intel® Core™ i5 CPU M 560.
Tried to run 24.04.1 from a live usb drive. System freezes completly when
language selection window gets shown. Syslog in writable partition only
contains repeating control chars at the end.

i just tested with current stable 3.13.0-32-generic again.
Everything works fine, no lags occur.
