Yes this is exactly the problem I have. Every-time I install the Nvidia- drivers the machine won't boot up it hangs and displays "Failed to connect to lvmetad. Falling back to device scanning. /dev/mapper/ubuntu--vg--root" I even tried installing earlier drivers -340 or 361 . The problem persist
