I have the same Lenovo model (Legion 5 Pro 16IAH7H) as well, with Ubuntu 24.10,
Kernel 6.11.0-13-generic, nvidia-driver-560 and BIOS J2CN57WW and see similar
issues:
- With "dynamic" graphics set in BIOS, the HDMI port does not work, displays
connected to USB-C/Thunderbolt work. dmesg logs same
please fix this, I like my linux on the xps but without touchpad it is
almost useless. I can use the touchscreen, but it is not the same.

I upgraded my dual boot XPS 9870 to Ubuntu 22.04 and after a day or so
the toucpad is not recognized. I looked up the dmesg errors online, it
seems a common problem that Ubuntu had regularly over past years that a
touchpad is recognized as generic mouse and cannot be activiate
MSFT0001:00 06CB:7F28 Touchpad works with kernel but it's very difficult
to do a middle click using the default hid-i2c driver. middle click and
right click works better with i2c-hid_standalone.

I bought a new Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 and installed Ubuntu 20.04 on it.
Unfortunately my touchpad stopped working and is not even recognized as input

The standalone patch #217 is working for MSFT0001:00 04F3:3140 but isn't
working perfectly for MSFT0001:00 06CB:7F28. The MSFT0001:00 06CB:7F28
touchpad frequently locks into scroll mode when using multitouch
gestures.

don't have a working network connection. ethtool reports that my network
interface doesn't have a connection:

I have the same problem, my hardware is a Clevo P640RE with intel
i7-6700HQ and a nvidia GTX970M.
With 15.10 i got it working (a little bit) with
i915.preliminary_hw_support=1 and nomodeset, but the system always froze
after some seconds, except if starting in recovery mode. I tried
different nvid
I now have tested both drivers nvidia sets the cpu freq to 3,4 GHz and
uses much more power. Intel has micro freezes in dmesg this shows up
perf interrupt took too long (2514 > 2500), lowering
kernel.perf_event_max_sample_rate to 5

Mouse is very slow after start
I've tested the 3.10 kernel from the Ubuntu kernel PPA for some more
time, and haven't had any more issues with mouse responsiveness, so I
guess that's resolved. There's just the issue that I have to manually
re-enable Bluetooth and WiFi on every startup.

Mouse responsiveness looks OK so far, but there seems to be a regression
concerning WiFi/Bluetooth.
When the system comes up, both are disabled and cannot be enabled using
the hardware switch (touch button above the keyboard on the HP 6930p).
WiFi is reported "disabled by hardware switch" in Gnome
