In fact, when I replace 36.9f0a2d68.0 firmware shipped with Bionic with the one
from https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=203055#c1 the issue is gone.

I also experience system freezes, usually after resume from suspend on
X1 Carbon 6th. It happens on 4.18.0-15 and 5.3.0-40 kernels. I am
running with no issues for many months on 4.15, currently
4.15.0-88-generic.

Tried an encrypted home with a new installation of 17.10. And probably
this bug causes Syncthing on that machine useless.
Syncthing does initial directory scan on each start and, probably due to
this bug, it takes about 45 min in my case a renders computer useless
during the scan.

I'm running 16.04 with xenial-proposed enabled and I'm experiencing
random freezes like this a few times a day since kernel upgrade about
two weeks ago.

Tried another thing: attached the tablet to colleague's MacBook ... and
from that moment it works without problems. I don't understand it. Is
possible, that MacOS silently updated tablet's firmare and fixed some
bug, which caused problems with ehci driver?

With fresh install of 16.04 I have problems with Wacom Intuos 3 tablet.
It sometimes works for while after attaching, but later it stops working
and blue led on tablet flashes. When I try to unplug it a plug it again,
I see related errors in kern.log:

Tried 3.18. It failed to build nvidia driver, I tested it from console,
it does not work as before. But I realized, that it is probably some
hardware problem, I'am unable to boot from DVD ...

I'am unable to mount any DVD in my laptop. When I try to do it manually
sudo mount /dev/sr0 /mnt/tmp/
it says
mount: no medium found on /dev/sr0
