So it works for me now after a manual rebuild. I don't know how to debug
this further, or
I seem to have both initramfs-tools 0.147ubuntu1 and dracut-install
106-2ubuntu5
installed.
It seems dracut is only a supported alternative :
https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/dracut-will-be-supported-in-ubuntu-25-04/56556
I ran `update-initramfs -u -v -k all` and here's the log

OK, so I remove and added the module :

Should this be going into Plucky (25.04) too ?
That has 20250317.git1d4c88ee-0ubuntu1 which you'd think is more recent,
but I do not see the files in /usr/lib/firmware/amdgpu, and my Framework

If you are on the 4.4.0-66 then you have not applied the fixes from
proposed, instructions above.
I'm on 16.04.2 LTS, with the -69 kernel from proposed, and WiFi is fine.

works fine (and despite the warnings about missing -extra VirtualBox is
OK so I don't have too choose between that and WiFi)

According to the stack trace (which I only have as the attached image)
it's a Nnull pointer at 48 from rtl_lps_leave+0x17/0x50
The first two parts of the call trace are:

rtl_is_special_data+0x14a/0x160 [rtlwifi]
