I often have connection interrupts (mostly during video calls or, even
worse, heavy database access) with a usb-c docking station using the
same chipset. Same message in the syslog.
Linux Mint 21, 5.15.0-53-generic, Lenovo Thinkpad P14s, other network drivers
loaded: mt7921e, r8169.

Today I booted with 5.4.0-62-generic kernel and the behavior changed a bit.
With this kernel when I resume from suspend screen lights up and I am back at
login. However I cannot enter password or login and I get an "authentication.

Whenever Ubuntu gets into suspend state, I cannot wake it up.
-Keystrokes start the fans but screen does not turn on and Ubuntu still seems
to be suspended because in my teamviewer account the computer is still offline.

Sorry, I should have specified this more clearly.
The trackpad works flawlessly, but the trackpoint is way too sensitive
rendering it unusable.

I am pretty sure that I've got the same issue (Dell Latitude E5470, Linux Mint
18.1 x64).
It did not work with kernel 4.8 so I updated to kernel 4.10.0-20-generic and
the problem persists.
