This was four years ago... I no longer have this phone, and I did not use Ubuntu on the desktop for some time now... So I cannot check whether this bug is still valid.
Ciao Martin -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to bluez in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/442424 Title: cellphone recognizes paired Ubuntu computer as headset Status in “bluez” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Binary package hint: bluez Since a few weeks, whenever someone calls me on my cellphone while I am in range of my laptop (running current karmic amd64), I do not hear the person, and I see the headset symbol on the phone (HTC diamond with Windows Mobile 6). The phone is paired with my laptop, as I sometimes use it via bluetooth PAN to use mobile broadband. At first, I though my headset accidentally turned on while lying around in my room... :) But that wasn't the case. It was my laptop that got in between. I saw this in my syslog just now: Oct 4 19:35:50 gwaihir bluetoothd[1908]: link_key_request (sba=00:23:4D:FA:EC:A8, dba=00:21:BA:C1:36:E2) Oct 4 19:35:50 gwaihir bluetoothd[1908]: Badly formated or unrecognized command: RING Oct 4 19:35:50 gwaihir bluetoothd[1908]: Badly formated or unrecognized command: ERROR Oct 4 19:35:50 gwaihir bluetoothd[1908]: Badly formated or unrecognized command: ERROR Oct 4 19:35:55 gwaihir bluetoothd[1908]: HCI dev 0 down Oct 4 19:35:55 gwaihir bluetoothd[1908]: Adapter /org/bluez/1902/hci0 has been disabled Oct 4 19:35:55 gwaihir bluetoothd[1908]: Stopping security manager 0 Oct 4 19:35:55 gwaihir bluetoothd[1908]: Audio connection got disconnected Oct 4 19:35:55 gwaihir bluetoothd[1908]: HCI dev 0 unregistered Oct 4 19:35:55 gwaihir bluetoothd[1908]: Unregister path: /org/bluez/1902/hci0 Oct 4 19:35:55 gwaihir NetworkManager: bluez_manager_bdaddr_removed_cb: BT device 00:21:BA:C1:36:E2 removed Oct 4 19:35:55 gwaihir bluetoothd[1908]: HCI dev 0 registered Oct 4 19:35:55 gwaihir bluetoothd[1908]: HCI dev 0 up Oct 4 19:35:55 gwaihir bluetoothd[1908]: Starting security manager 0 Oct 4 19:35:55 gwaihir bluetoothd[1908]: Parsing /etc/bluetooth/serial.conf failed: No such file or directory Oct 4 19:35:55 gwaihir bluetoothd[1908]: Invalid record Oct 4 19:35:55 gwaihir bluetoothd[1908]: probe failed with driver input-headset for device /org/bluez/1902/hci0/dev_00_21_BA_C1_36_E2 Oct 4 19:35:55 gwaihir bluetoothd[1908]: Adapter /org/bluez/1902/hci0 has been enabled Oct 4 19:35:56 gwaihir NetworkManager: bluez_manager_bdaddr_added_cb: BT device MartinEmrich (00:21:BA:C1:36:E2) added (DUN NAP) Oct 4 19:35:56 gwaihir NetworkManager: <info> (00:21:BA:C1:36:E2): new Bluetooth device (driver: 'bluez') ....somewhere here I "panicked" and hit the wireless killswitch to save the call, but it was too late...
