I am now able to reproduce this behaviour. Booting to blackscreen (after LUKS encryption) only occurs with an unplugged power adapter and NOT with a plugged one. With Ubuntu 18.04.5 (Kernel is the same 5.4.0-56, but complaining about missing amdgpu renoir drivers) the problem in my tests did NEV

Same problem here with Lenovo V15-ADA Devices. We do have about 60 laptops and nearly all show the same behaviour more or less often. The workaround that helped for me with kernel 5.4.0-54 or lesser was building the amdgpu kernel modules version 20.30. But with upgrade to kernel 5.4.0-56 this no
