Asus-rog-strix-gl702zc-gc175t laptop until an recent 'sudo apt upgrade' to the
latest kernel 5.0.0-27-generic.
Can't find any networks with it after the upgrade.
Please add Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS to the list of fixing this!

I just got the 4.15.0-45 kernel through normal updates.
Am I the only one who sees it as problematic that when updating to
4.15.0-45, it marks both 4.15.0-43 and 4.15.0-44 for auto removal?
Of course 44 should go, because it's problematic, but what if someone
ends up without a prior kernel to boo

One problem for the method in #44, the fan very easily get spinning all
the time if nouveau is blacklisted. So I have the enable it. I don't
think this is a sensible workaround.

Thank you very much, I can shutdown normally now. And my system was
already installing the latest packages before blacklisting nouveau, so
it should be safe to update.
Nonetheless, the shutdown problem should be related to nouveau.

This problem is driving me crazy. Looks like this is related to the
nvidia driver. You can shut down the system with 3rd party nvidia driver
installed in recovery x mode. However, you cannot enter normal mode at
all.

suspension failed in any way, first clipping my laptop screen doesn't
work, executing pm-suspend or clicking the suspend button in gnome don't
work either.

Do I just need to execute the tests and append the content of
/sys/kernel/debug/suspend_stats?
I tried the tests on another computer, looks like there's no output and
the content of the file didn't change at all.

but other times, it doesn't work, behaving the same as 16.04.
