This gets me around the read-only problem but the bulk of what shows up
in dmesg is still there.

Thanks a lot, I have been struggling with this and boot issues with my own
Qualcomm Atheros Card for about a day. Everything works fine now. Using Ubunto
16.04, Windows 10 with and Acer R 14.
