I can still boot into the kernel from Ubuntu 15.04:
uname -r
3.19.0-28-generic
The touchscreen works in this kernel. To be clear, I'm booting into
Ubuntu 15.10 using the above kernel entry in grub 2 menu. I did it as a
test not thinking it would boot but it does and the touchscreen works
properly
Installed and booted latest kernel:
uname -r
4.3.0-040300rc4-generic
Verified bug exists in this kernel version. Same kernel log output as
before:

Pardon the double post but there seems to be no way to edit previous
posts. I can compile any patches and test them on my laptop if you need
this to be done on my specific hardware. I know how difficult it is
finding and patching a bug without the specific hardware to test the
patch.
