I no longer use Cinnamon, I still use Blueberry, and it works with
4.7rc3. However, I must switch each pulseaudio stream manually to the
bluetooth device after it has connected, it doesn't switch
automatically.

Yes. However I had to re add all my devices. And there is STILL no
bluetooth icon on the panel

OK got the computer to boot with the mainline kernel. Not only does
bluetooth audio not work, but now Cinnamon crashes on startup, and I've
lost my dual head setup.

As of this morning's upgrade, I no longer have bluetooth audio. Both my
audio headsets will connect, and they show up in the sound dialog box as
options, but they cannot be selected as options, the dialog box that
lets use choose between hsp or ad2p still says analog stereo,
