OK moving back to confirmed Have had the new BIOS running for a week and have seen the issue recur several times. Current workaround is to boot up, and then open [ System Properties --> Mouse and Touchpad ] mouse properties, where i will only see General (and not Touchpad). I then close the lid

Hi Joseph, My battery ran down. When i plugged booted up everything was working, so it's really intermittent, and the steps to resolve seem to always involve always a reboot (after sometimes several times trying to disable the trackpoint in BIOS, boot in and then enable trackpoint in BIOS and boo
