Public bug reported:
Hi,
To support switchdev as an inbox feature of Ubuntu Core, we would need
the Ubuntu kernel to build with switchdev support, by setting
NET_SWITCHDEV.
Can we turn this on for Yakkety? We have hardware that Luke Williams
can use to verify working kernels.

I had an email exchange with Brian Fromme on including our latest
aacraid driver into the Ubuntu LTS releases. He suggested that I log a
ticket on Launchpad.
The most recent driver that is in
rtg already integrated the patches and put the results here:

There is a problem (Hang) when iSCSI targets are removed in the 4.4.0

fix from Johannes(SUSE) that fixed it in the 4.4.0 kernel but I thi
Are these the patches which were in James Bottomly's scsi-misc tree, and
have since been included officially in Linus' tree? ie. did they make
it into v4.1 final which just released yesterday? If so, we would
prefer to have the list of those sha1's from Linus' tree.

I had a conversation with Bala's team this week.
They were asking to see if we could backport this to 3.13, which the bug

I explained that the typical hardware enablement model is to ask
customer to move up to a current release (Vivid / 14.04.3) if they want

Hi Walt,
Yes, Vivid kernel is now frozen. But, we can accept bug fixes, which
can be applied to Vivid, if urgent, or done through our SRU process,
once Vivid has released.
Please let me know if you have more questions about that.

In response to Comment #3
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1407760/comments/3):
Mellanox states that this should also be backported to 3.13 (Trusty).
Eyal Perry believes that this patch should apply cleanly. If there are
any questions about that, he is happy to help.

Here's an answer for the Trusty version question:
The mlx4 driver in 3.13-stable does not include VXLAN support, so does
not need this patch. The driver in Ubuntu Trusty does include that
support and the affected line of code, so does need this patch.

This question is for the Mellanox engineering team.
Do you want this in the Trusty GA 3.13 kernel, or will the 3.16 based

Hi Joseph,
Can you comment whether you know about an upstream fix for this problem.
Emulex has a customer that is trying to work around this issue. If we
know that the problem is fixed in a daily Ubuntu build, perhaps they
could test that.
thanks,
Brian
