I will add that this new ASM1064 SATA card is a 4-port SATA controller
that does not use any additional JMicron chip as a port multiplier (like
a JBM575). My original JMicron card was only a two port model, so why it
needed a port multiplier is beyond me. Basically, what all this means is
avoid JMi
My workaround for this problem was to eject the JMicron SATA controller
from the chassis and replace it with one that uses an ASM1064 controller
instead.

Yes, removing and re-adding the modules as you describe does at least
recover eno1 without rebooting. Still, hardly a solution for what was
intended to be a headless Plex server. This happens every time I start
an mpeg2 tv stream through my plex box which is only about a 20mbps
load.
Also, on the last crash, I caught it while it was happening and RX/TX
errors and collisions all went through the roof right before it went

got my bluetooth adapter recognized.
Tried it by pairing my phone, headphones and a ps3 controller on Ubuntu
16.04 & Ubuntu-Mate 18.04. Got my phone working on both, ps3 had trouble
pairing, and my headphones worked on Ubuntu 1
So I tried the latest upstream kernel of 4.16 which at the moment was
4.16.6.Bluetooth still not working at the moment.

It seems this is the same bug for Dell XPS 15 as well. Not always, but
sometimes this happens either using the DA200 adapter (Type-C usb) or
direct HDMI. However, a related bug has been fixed (black screen)* so I
will report back if this still happens on the Dell XPS 15.

So what was really odd was that the package complained about - linux-
image-extra-3.13.0-37-generic 3.13.0-37.64 - is really old stuff - I
have no idea what that's all about.
I'm currently on 3.13.0-107-generic #154-Ubuntu SMP .
