Had the same issues on 2 machines as well.
Using a Xenyx 302 USB and had sudden periodic popping noise on the right
side of my headphones.
Thanks to comment [#11](https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-
signed-hwe-5.13/+bug/1966066/comments/11) it is fixed for now.
You can also restart
Trying to use the fix in arch wiki does not work:

sudo rtcwake -m freeze -s 1
