I have exactly the same problem (this is on a Gigabyte Aero 15 YD 11th
gen laptop), and had the same fix of migrating from v515 to v525.

I have the same problem on my Dell Latitude 5400 on Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS
connected via HDMI to AOC Q3279VWFD8. After sleep the resolution goes
from 2560x1440 75hz to 1920x1080 60hz

I didn't try because the laptop don't even see the screen plugged in hdmi.
Nothing happens, screen turns to sleep mode.
that is confirmed with the screen setting in Cinnamon : only the laptop screen
is mentioned.
