for both 5.19 and 6.2 kernels.
I am attaching logs for the Ubuntu version 20.04 in a Dell laptop with

It sounds like 5.15 is hitting bug 1970495 but you found a workaround in
re-plugging the cable.
As for 5.19, I see nothing in the log to explain it so this seems like
an opaque kernel bug. As such I recommend trying newer kernels like:

USB Ports, like when using mouse device works only on reboot for a short
while (in the login screen) then ultimately stops after login. Same
happens to bluetooth also. I checked the logs and it says, usb device
descriptor error -71. This happened after upgrading to ubuntu 22.0

That kernel is actually older than the Ubuntu 5.19 kernels. But there's
always a chance it will work around the bug by pre-dating it... Not
likely in this case though since we have two duplicate bugs showing it

original post. My screen looks exactly like the video attached above. I
am running Ubuntu 22.04.1 on an HP All in One 120-1031.
If I use NOMODSET the lines do not appear but the screen is too large to
