Hm.. it's not trivial to revert that commit, because it depends on other
subsystem changes. I was thinking that we may actually corrupt the stack
because elantech_create_smbus() is using too much stack. How about

elantech_change_report_id(), that is defined in
drivers/input/mouse/elantech.c.

Hi, I no longer have the laptop in which I used to report the issue. On
the other hand the issue shows up on 2 other laptops that I have, the
main difference is the thermal number.

I've hit this bug on a non-encrypted pool. FS scrub also reported no
errors for me. I'm currently on Kernel 5.11.0-37-generic / zfs libs

Since I noticed a high amount of CPU time spent in interrupt handling I looked
at /proc/interrupts (right after the slow boot and slow login):
