After a system upgrade last night, the patched version 5.4.0-59 that
works was replaced by an older version of 5.4.0-59 dated Dec 10. So

The nouveau drivers were not a viable option, computer kept freezing,

I tried "pcie_aspm=off nvme_core.default_ps_max_latency_us=0" but did
not help. I'll try with "force" and "performance" policy.
I ended fed up with crashes and upgraded to a Ryzen 7 2700X, with the
rest of the system unchanged. It still crashes from time to time, but it
takes much more time. Inste

was an asus geforce gtx 570 swapped it for a 670 no issues yesterday on
the same card this is the 2nd time i have turned my machine on with this
card in and first time i have seen the error. hope this helps

I'm running Linux Mint 19.3 Cinnamon. I upgraded from 5.4.0-58 to 5.4.0-59
and the computer was not able to recognize the cable connection. My Ethernet
controller is a Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/81
I'm also on 20.04 and my network connection stopped working after an
update today. I have a Broadcom BCM4360.

Finally latest kernel accepted the bump up timeout value to fixed the issue.
