Actually you didn't need to enable DRM debugging. It looks like there
are a few errors coming from the Intel kernel graphics driver 'i915'.
Those might be separate to the FIFO underrun errors, which other people
also report in bug 1550779.

Well this is a PC with onboard intel graphics. A memory issue would mean
RAM problem which is not the case here. I can see a visual corruption.
If you can't see it then there is nothing more to say here.
You are welcomed to see the dmesg and figure out what happens. There is
no hardware damage on
I wish I could place a date on when the issues started. My guess is that
it was either late May or early June. The issue happens quite frequently
in the last updates and now I get sometimes a black screen on the laptop
while the external monitor remains working. A restart of the system

Same problem with HP ZBook G6 15.
Latest BIOS 1.05
Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS
The problem occurs with kernel 5.4.0.42 but not with the previous version
5.4.0.26.
Only workaround that works with me is acpi=off as boot parameter.

what I am seeing in your photos. Your photos seem to show the graphics
memory fully intact and some kind of analog VGA signalling problem.
Which unfortunately means the Linux kernel might not be aware of the
problem.
