Also my HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC (L3S64EA#ABZ) was affected by this
problem, no longer saved the BIOS settings after installing this version

I works with your patch! Confirmed that with the patch, it understands the
times as absolute ones.
I managed to test it in a virtual machine. Switching from one version to the
other, I can verify the behaviour easily.
The command I am testing is:
sudo iptables -I OUTPUT -p tcp -m
In attempt to update the firmware I installed the razer software on my
newly created windows partition, to see if it could be updated through
there. No luck.
I emailed Razer support to ask about obtaining updated firmware. I'll
let everyone know what I hear back.

I solved it eventually, but forgot about this post.
If I remember correctly I had to make a bootable pendrive with the 18.04
installer, because it wanted to modify something, and couldn't do it with live
cd.
And how I found this out is a mystery for me right now.
