I experienced this bug when trying to start Ubuntu 18.04.2 Live DVD on an ASUS
R515M.
What happened was that the screen was blank, at first I thought the issue is
with UEFI... I edited grub boot options for Linux (adding "nomodeset" instead

i've the same Problem on Ubuntu 18.10.
I'm running a Asus P9D-X (no Onboard Sound) with a Asus MIO 892 (Realtek)-Card
which is detected as Intel-HDA:
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 8 Series/C220 Series Chipset High
Definition Audio Controller (rev 05)
cat /proc/asound/cards :
0 [PCH
Also affected me after upgrading from 18.04 to 18.10.
The real pain point is that it locks my CPU frequency at 800MHz, and
doesn't 'unlock' it even after removing the intel_powerclamp module.

So, we will get a package into bionic-proposed with only the necessary
fix for the ipcs command. It's already in the SRU queue and waiting for
approval, which we already asked for. So, just waiting for a review and
this should be on -proposed by next week, when we will ask for
verification.

I'm confused. Do you need verification or not? Cosmic is not
specifically supported on our platform, and there are no plans at the
moment to support non-LTS releases that I know of. I can certainly test
