I have to correct myself a bit: Network coming up correctly after
suspend only works from time to time. On the cases where it's not
working, the driver still has to be reloaded.

After some time CPU load grew to 100% again.
Have found another workaround which is working so far (disabling nvidia
rules for udev):
sudo mv /lib/udev/rules.d/71-nvidia.rules
/lib/udev/rules.d/71-nvidia.save
(and then restart).
