I am no longer able to reproduce after applying Ted's patch. I was able
to run my unit test 20 times w/o failing on upstream + patch on d05-6. I
then switched over to the Ubuntu kernel + patch, and it has now passed

patch submit to the lpfc 12.0.0.0 driver which is likely not present in

First, I'd like to suggest that this is NOT a duplicate of bug #1674838.
That one seems related to CPU usage, which this is decidedly not.
I think I too have a problem with the i915 drivers. It is ha
what helped me, when I was stuck on black boot screen, was to reinstall
Gnome:
sudo apt purge gdm3
sudo apt install gdm3 ubuntu-desktop
systemctl restart gdm
after that everything works. - Running Ubuntu 18.04
