Thinkpad T450s, docking station, Altus Metrum Chaoskey plugged into the
docking station - suspend fails often (more than half the time, maybe
not 100% but easily duplicated in my setup) in that it doesn't seem to
go all the way down - and on wakeup, lsusb output doesn't update

[Impact]
There are several stability issues with the i2c-xlp9xxx that cause
communication issues between the host and the BMC, leading to unpredictable
results when the ipmi-ssif module tries to enumerate the device (/dev/ipmi0).

I tried getting that kernel installed. Without nvidia driver, I
couldn't get the system booted. With it, I couldn't get the kernel to
install. After some time, grub-install no longer worked, even from
liveusb or recovery. I

Yes, the problem does occur in mainline 4.16 and I have added the
requested tag.
If anything, 4.16.1 seems slower than 4.15 release kernel even for no
cryptswap. It could be that my disk is too slow for cryptswap, but it
did work in 17.10.
