Finally I got the time to test (with a second SSD just to be sure) this
notebook with some quirks.
So far, the quirks I've found and tested are:
i8042.kbdreset
i8042.reset
i8042.nomux
i8042.dumbkbd
i8042.direct
i8042.noaux (irrelevant but tested anyway)
i8042.nokbd (completely kill the keyboard)
We should consider what we are trying to achieve with the rebuild test
and perhaps build something smaller ... hmmm.

Sorry, forgot to mention the most important bit of information: that did not
solve the problem.
Nor did adding "acpi=biosirq" or "i8042.reset" to the kernel line (solutions
reported for other computers with similar problems).
Secure boot was disabled throughout. (I have no idea why legacy boot

I updated to kernel 4.12 and the kernel recover usb failures on boot
( the clue was that the usb live cd booted , recovering usb failures, with
ubuntu 17.04 kernel 4.10 )
+ i booted on macos , and updated the system from the default macos
updater : some stuff on the "bios" should have been update
This sounds like a problem with SecureBoot.
Did you disable UEFI SecureBoot?
How about the touchpad? Is it working with your kernel?
