I didn't remove the Nvidia drivers when I upgraded the kernel, and
everything worked fine after that, including the drivers, no reinstall
necessary either. I compiled the kernel from sources though, don't know
if that matters.

Thanks @Chris Hermansen. As @Joseph Salisbury suggested, I tried
4.9.0-16, 4.10.0-8, 4.10.0-11, and 4.10.0-19 and the problem doesn't
crop up until 4.10.0-19 and then does so reliably (so to speak).

I'm able to reliably reproduce it, but I haven't been able to generate a
small test case (I have to reboot every time I reproduce it). FWIW, the
job which reproduces it (after a few minutes) does a lot of SMP and a

Hello,
I suspect there is nothing new here but I was able to watch my system for a few
minutes before it completely died and here is a gif containing output from top
- with khugepaged process staying on the top of the list taking 100% of CPU
resources most of the time.

Some additional notes after testing for a while...
The crashing behavior doesn't occur consistently in the same way.
Sometimes the Bluetooth crashes with the Wifi, while sometimes it
recovers fine and continues to work while the Wifi doesn't. In addition,
it seems that the Wifi crash breaks Networ

All of these issues seem to arise from a BUG event in swapops.h:129. That
particular spot is a section that's only active, when the kernel was built with
CONFIG_MIGRATION=y. So first step is probably to verify that CONFIG_MIGRATION
