I wrote a small initramfs script to snapshot the zpool when booting off

Occams Beard, have you tested the fan issue with kernel 4.8? Here, you
only mention kernel 4.7, but 4.8 was supposed to fix Skylake power
management issues. I have noticed people having fan issues on other
laptop models with Skylake, mostly i7 6700hq, (Asus, Lenovo), as well

Tested with 4.4.30, same problem.
I found another way to reproduce the bug, problem appears always when laptop
goes to suspended mode.
I did an experiment, if I restart the network manager, I can see the wifi
networks list.

After some months I have unfortunately to correct my last posts: the workaround
I posted works at 90% but many times the card drops many packets.
Moreover even when it works the performance are very poor: 2-3Mbps vs the real
speed of 12-13Mbps.
So the problem remains.

I checked it with 4.4.0-43 and 4.4.30
4.4.0-43 - Failed with same error.
4.4.30 - Finding the same error when using mt7601u.
This is happening with the mt7601u module usage only, and don't know why
it is throwing the error with this particular module, earlier ubuntu
release didn't had this module
And this is serious system? Really?? This bug have 2 years?? I back to
