convince myself that the pcap_set_immediate_mode() workaround could work
in nmap as well.

I have tested this on kernel 4.4.0 (in Xenial) and I don't think the fix
that went into 3.19 fixed the entire issue.
My understanding is that since nmap uses a relatively long pcap_select()
timeout, and the packet buffers in the kernel aren't filling up fast
enough, the packet loss can still be se

Seems correct to have this tracked as a kernel bug. Unless you set
limits.cpu in LXD, LXD will not alter the cpu pinning in any way. And
even if it did, it'd do so through the cpuset cgroup, which shouldn't
allow a sub-cgroup to be any more permissive than the root cgroup.

I fixed one of the issues I described above by reinstalling Ubuntu with

that this tiny laptop has only 32GB SSD, which is very little. I
determined that vswapd was killing the CPU, that's why the mouse cursor

Regression: S-video output does not work
Status in linux package in Ubuntu
Hello again, it seems that the issue arose again, I don't know at what
point but it's still present. Apparently the kernel upgrade didn't fix
the issue, because when it appeared back on the new install I upgraded
the kernel again to current version, and it's still happening
$ uname -r

I changed the status into confirmed (didn't see how to reopen the
issue), if I have to open a new bug referring this one, just tell me.
Thanks

I guess you'll have to wait until linux 4.4.0-38.57 has been promoted to
updates since the net boot images are not updated until then. I won't
revert this patch for lack of verification. It is obviously powerpc
specific and should not cause regressions.

I just took some updates to a number of graphic libraries on 16.04, and
now I can't login to kubuntu. The symptom is that it takes my password
on the greeter screen, but never updates the screen after that.
The messages include these apparently related kernel messages:

Hi Tim.
Do you have specific instructions on how to do so for the *install*?
