Should I re-report the bug, or can this be re-activated? It's exactly
the same behavior. High memory -> system freeze, with the UI not being
response. I would expect the oom-killer to terminate one of the
processes, but instead my system became unresponsive indefinitely.

Problems here too. PS2 keyboard works, No usb mouse and no network
assess in any version after 12. at this point an older version of mint

I've tried kernel 4.4 "linux-image-4.4.0-040400-generic_4.4.0" and this kernel
doesn't work.
Then I've installed "linux-image-4.4.0-rc8-touchpad_4.4.0-rc8" as described in
" linux-kernel-bugs #108581". It works as expected! Thanks a lot.

Hi Jerely , 16.04-proposed is still 4.3 and does not fix the problem.
As you swaw, Official fix is in 4.4 and 16.04 will includ 4.4, so official fix
may be only available in april, or canonical should push the fix to 4.2 which
might be difficult.

Kernel 4.4 solves the problem for me. I used the kernel from the following site:

I hope that this gets fixed in Ubuntu-proper so that I don't need to
rely on a PPA for my system to work properly, though.
