Sorry I misunderstood, I'm guessing if you go back to v3.16 it would be
fine? Perhaps something about the build is wrong at the checkout
preventing that.
There are two ways to try proceeding:

As I mentioned in my Comment 18
I can't get further with bisection since:
I am at a bisect state between 3.16 and 3.19 where I can't generate a
Little Indian kernel deb package. (PPC64LE). All it generates is a
POWERPC deb. Console doesn't let me customize it in the config make
oldconfig stage,
I think that Mellanox wants us to enable full IPoIB PXE support. For
that to happen I plan to:
- Enumerate the needs for it to happen (enable proper modules, preseed support,
etc)
- Show test results using HW they provided us
- Propose fixes
I'll be working on this for the next few days using an

pstate_idle is broken on 4.1,
Public bug reported:
The system has high fan speed even when idle. Overall, the fan never
gets to a fan speed as low as with the 3.13 kernel.
When running the kernel with intel_pstate=disable, i get much more
governor choices, and when selecting "powersave" with this, i get much
better behavior,
I ran the system with intel_pstate=disable when filing the bug, but the
buggy behaviour is without that option.
